Welcome back to Day 6 of the KnB Challenge!
I love a good minor character. They’re there to support the story and support the main character’s. Whether they’re for comic relief, or if they hold a senpai/kouhai relationship with the leads, you’re bound to find a great character that you can’t help but take notice of.
For me, the best minor character of the series is the Seirin High’s team captain: Junpei Hyuuga. He’s a bit of a hard ass, with a grating personality, but he’s got good intentions as a captain and as a supportive friend. He may be frowning all the time and seemingly angry, but that just adds to his appeal. He’s definitely a no nonsense type of guy, and he takes his position as a clutch shooter and captain very seriously. Oh, and the fact that he’s a megane doesn’t hurt either! 😀
But wait, there’s more! Have you seen Hyuga in his delinquency phase? Because nothing made me laugh harder than seeing him with long blonde hair just because he was trying something new.
Speaking of his talent, there’s another reason as to why Hyuuga made such an impression on me. In that year of rebellion of his first year, and the year that he and Teppei formulated the Seirin basketball team, there’s a scene of him looking at his cellphone, and the photo of his screensaver. Well, that was what caught me in Hyuuga’s web, I was a goner when they showed that, because well, he had no other but Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors on his screensaver; a fellow three-point shooter and probably the player that Hyuuga aspires to be like. However, that brings up the debate of “clutch” shooter. BUT, I’m going to save that for another post sometime after the KnB Challenge! So be on the look out for that one! 🙂
That just about wraps up Day 6 here! We look forward to you joining us tomorrow!
